This Trek’s focus is upon the excitement of the Race’s finish, the Eskimo culture of the Bering Sea coast and the rich human and natural history of Nome and the surrounding Seward Peninsula.

Highlights include watching the winner and runners-up mush into Nome, ski plane flights to White Mountain and other Norton Sound checkpoints, a snowmobile tour back along the trail to Safety Checkpoint, an aerial tour of Seward Peninsula, wildlife viewing of caribou, Musk Oxen, moose and other animals, a visit and tour of a coastal Eskimo village and an opportunity to witness and interpret the
legendary history of Nome.

The Iditarod Winners TrekAccommodations in Nome are deluxe and modern. Featured are catered meals prepared by a private chef, including a deluxe King crab dinner, fresh from the cold waters of the Bering Sea. If desired, you can go out on the solid Bering Sea ice and help catch them!

Day 1: Arrive in Nome, land tour of Nome and Iditarod headquarters, welcome dinner
Day 2: Fly from Nome to White Mountain and/or other Norton Sound Checkpoints
Day 3: Watch winner and finalists mush into Nome, visit Safety Checkpoint by snowmobile or ski plane.
Day 4: Fly from Nome to Eskimo Village, aerial tour of Seward Peninsula, fresh King Crab dinner
Day 5: Depart Nome
