PHOTOGRAPHY TREKS

Sky Trekking Alaska offers a truly unique photographic workshops.

Likely Alaska's most published outdoor photographer, Fred Hirschmann joins us to explore our great state for a raven's-eye view of Alaska’s wildlife, flora and scenery and the amazing people who live here.

Fred spent four seasons as a backcountry ranger in Alaska's stunning Lake Clark National Park and has also been a ranger in Yellowstone, Bryce Canyon, Petrified Forest, Voyageurs, Yosemite, Everglades, and Death Valley national parks. He left the National Park Service in 1988 to work on two books: Bush Pilots of Alaska and Alaska’s National Parks.  He has now been the photographer for 16 coffee table books including the titles Alaska, Alaska from the Air, America, Arizona, and Utah. His images appear in hundreds of scenic calendars as well as magazines from Alaska Magazine to LIFE and National Geographic.

Sky Trekkers will learn from Fred his approach of capturing intimate details in Alaska's grand landscape.  He will help our guests pre-conceptualize their photographic compositions so you will take home images that show all the beauty Alaska has to offer.

Sky Treks will be tailored around Alaska's magic light and destinations will vary from day to day. Meals and lodging will be in local lodges, and B&B’s.  Come join us to take pictures of a lifetime.

To request a detailed, day-by-day itinerary of the Photography Trek, either by mail or emailed in .pdf format, or to create your own custom photography trek please call 907.315.6098 or send an email via the Contact Page.
