TROUT TREKS

The Trout Treks are designed for guests wanting to focus on the Bristol Bay region of Alaska where some the world’s largest wild Rainbow Trout are prolific. The Bristol Bay region is located on the Alaska Peninsula approximately 300 miles southwest of Anchorage. Treks can begin and end from either Anchorage or King Salmon. For guests who would like to optimize their fishing time we recommend beginning and ending in King Salmon. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at a remote lodge in Katmai National Park or in King Salmon at lodges and B&B’s.

The areas fished are natural streams flowing into larger freshwater lakes abundant with Pacific salmon runs vital in the eco-system to provide the optimal habitat for trout. Targeted streams are located in Katmai National Park and Preserve accessed via floatplane and supplemented with rafts on longer streams. Walk and wade fishing is typical and can be tailored to suit the needs of each guest.

Trout Treks include your own private aircraft and pilot along with a professional fly fishing guide, all waders, rods, reels and terminal tackle. Fishing licenses are sold separately. Rafts may be used on one or more days depending on the time of season and focus and needs of the group.
